Q: This isn’t meant to be an insult or a rant or anything of the sort, but I was wondering why in scott pilgrim vs the world (which I loved a lot btw) there aren’t very many people of color? There was Matthew but not any or many others, unless I was very silly and I missed them. Is this because…

“When I started reading comics, Chris Claremont was about 12-13 years into his Uncanny X-Men run. It was nothing but subplots. I would read an issue and understand like 9% of it. Then I get the next issue and all the subplots would advance a couple of pages, and I’d understand like 14 percent, and I’d get a back issue and fill in more gaps…but the effect to me was like looking out a window. There was an entire world outside, but from the vantage point of the window, I’d only see a little bit of that world and I would have to fill in the gaps.”

Max Landis on Man of Steel.

Haha, I’m not planning on seeing that movie I don’t think (I like the character but man, I know a Zack Snyder movie when I see one— you know how?  They put Zack Snyder’s name on the poster!  It’s a WARNING)(plus, I’m too excited for that movie where Jamie Foxx is Obama firing rocket launchers at terrorists and Channing Tatum is whoever he is, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack I think? I really want to see that).  But I’m enjoying hearing angry fans be like, “Let me explain Superman slowly to you because apparently after a billion comics we made explaining it, you people still don’t get it.”  I like that part.
